IP English moves faster and demands more sophistication from the outset. Without the O-Level checkpoint, students must maintain their own standards — and the curriculum expects a level of critical and creative engagement that requires deliberate development.
Our Lower Secondary IP English programme builds the analytical depth, expressive range, and examination intelligence that IP students need in Sec 1–2 — and that will carry them through to A-Level.
What We Cover
Advanced Comprehension & Inference
IP English stretches students with complex, layered texts. We train students to handle literary and non-literary passages with precision — identifying authorial intent, evaluating tone, and supporting answers with textual evidence.
Argumentative & Discursive Writing
IP assessments place heavy emphasis on extended writing. Students learn to construct well-reasoned arguments with sophisticated vocabulary, logical flow, and effective use of counter-argument.
Literature & Language Study
Many IP schools introduce formal literature study in Sec 1–2. We support both unseen and set-text analysis — teaching students to discuss language, imagery, and structure with genuine critical insight.
Oral & Presentation Skills
IP oral assessments often go beyond simple stimulus-based conversation. We prepare students for the extended spoken interactions their schools require, building fluency, confidence, and depth of thought.
